We are happy to announce that Moe Zalat, a fourth year student in Systems and Computer Engineering has joined us in the lab. Moe brings a critical blend of creative thinking, systems knowledge and 3D printer experience to the team. Moe is the recipient of an NSERC Undergraduate Research Student Award (Summer 2018) working with algorithms to reconstruct and extract a 3D object mesh using fixed RGB-d sensors and a robotic arm to manipulate the object. Mo's experience in building a Fuse-Deposition Model (FDM) 3D printer from scratch and experience in validating hardware and software systems design bring valuable depth to the CSALT team.
